Jie Le Tan

Jia Le Tan represents the next generation of scientific talent at the crossroads of artificial intelligence, statistics, and applied data science. Currently pursuing her PhD in Statistics at the University of Warwick, jointly funded by the UK’s Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science and the Central England NERC Training Alliance, she brings rigorous mathematical reasoning and modern computational expertise to the development of intelligent, data-driven systems. Before starting her doctoral research, Jia Le completed a Master’s degree in Advanced Computer Science at the University of Oxford, graduating with distinction and specializing in probabilistic verification, game theory, and quantum computation.

His academic trajectory reflects both depth and versatility. She has served as a teaching assistant, researcher, and mentor, earning the Warwick GTA Teaching Award for her excellence in communication and pedagogical clarity. Jia Le’s research focuses on Bayesian inference, uncertainty quantification, and probabilistic decision-making fields that directly influence how machine learning models can be made more transparent, interpretable, and reliable. Before entering academia full-time, she worked at Barclays as a Technology Analyst within the Group Technology Infrastructure Services division, where she contributed to enterprise-level data optimization and sustainability projects, gaining firsthand experience in transforming large datasets into actionable intelligence.
